How to Invest in Neutrality

Three deep breaths
Then throw all your coins in the deep end
Pray as they quickly sink

Touch the bottom of your foot
On the gritty surface
Bob to the top
Feel fingertips floating

Flip, twist, and hurl your body
Notice the sky below
See the disco dimes twirl

Then swim hard! To utter exhaustion!

Now ready
Collect each penny from below
Leave the silver to your children

Dripping, glowing, life flowing
Powerfully through you
Rise from buoyant space
Richer than the fee to get wet

Pandemic Perch

Remembering Virginia Woolf, I made myself a private spot on our balcony. Lovely in good weather with a pleasant view of a deeply troubled world.

Maybe it’s too close.

Birds chirping over a manicured zen garden, each person walking through a tight amalgam of social rage and a disease vector.

Balance takes on a new meaning when perched on a branch. Flight is tricky too, given the maelstrom.

Media Makeovers

Notice how the media meets the purposes outlined by leaders. In the hands of some, the internet is a weapon. But we are, and have always been, the greater majority. What might the internet be in the hands those whose mission is centered in love?
